where exceptional songs begin ○

supernova support

Katie Phillips and Karen Joy Brown had a vision: create community where exceptional songs and healing meet. But their digital presence was a Substack, scattered social platforms, and systems held together with zipties. They needed a brand that could hold the depth of their work and systems that could support their growth ○

Through brand distillation, we identified The Creator as their core energy— the sage as their supportive archetype… with a dash of sage to keep things real and lively. We coined this unique blend The Liberated Creator ○ Two women who recovered their own creative voices and now help others do the same.

Their philosophy: Exceptional songs don't just entertain—they liberate. Both the women who write them and the people who need to hear them ○

What We Built ⁕

  • Brand Distillation & Brandbook: Defined their archetype, voice, values, visual identity, and client journey

  • Art Direction & Photoshoot: Captured their warm, rebellious energy with custom photo treatments. coordinated photographer, hair, and make up artist

  • Squarespace Website: Fully integrated hub showcasing podcast, music, blog, and event calendar

  • copy: using their archetype, I wrote copy for their website and developed a brand voice guide for them to use across other platforms

  • Backend Systems: Streamlined booking for 1:1 vocal coaching, group song salons, workshops, retreats, and their monthly Not So Open Mic

  • Operational Integration: One cohesive platform for everything they do ○

The Result ⁕

A brand ecosystem that authentically represents two women helping others find their creative voices, with systems that support sustainable growth. From free monthly open mics (their community gateway) to premium retreats, every touchpoint reflects their Creator-sage archetype: brave, warm, boundary-breaking, and deeply committed to helping women create music that truly matters ○

in her words ⁕

i've described it to people as a spiritual experience. kate wrote all our copy, put together our packages, gave us the pricing — she did the parts we couldn't quite do ourselves. and her process includes these beautiful questions about our values, who we want to work with, who we don't. it was profound.
